who is wind-o-wash cc?

Established in 1989 as a dynamic window cleaning company, we have grown and now include a comprehensive specialised cleaning service for the commercial and industrial market.

company profile

Our Executive Committee, comprising Jill Eckstein, Nicky Dillon, Helen Edward, Goodman Mavumengwana, Sydwell Magqaza and Siyabonga Rorwana have collectively more than 50 years experience in the cleaning industry, specialising in high level window cleaning. All our Board members have been with Wind-O-Wash cc since its inception in 1989 except for Siyabonga who joined the Company approximately 11 years ago and all have been dedicated and loyal fellow workers.

We follow a serious affirmative action programme and are presently 30% black owned and 70% woman owned. We are a Level 4 contributor and have an A rating from Empowerdex.

We promote from within and have trained ten members of staff to become supervisors which included passing their driving test to become drivers and stringent training in the fields of safety and supervisory skills.

We introduced rope access in 1997 and have subsequently trained thirteen cleaners to become qualified Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 RAFAA accredited rope technicians.

why use wind-o-wash

Wind-O-Wash maintains the highest standard of service by constantly monitoring their various teams to ensure top quality work. Each team has a supervisor, who has a variety of responsibilities, including, adherence to health and safety regulations, conduct of our cleaning teams on site, dress code of our staff members, etc.

We also have an Operations Director, Siyabonga Rorwana, who oversees the teams whilst on their various contracts and provides support to our staff.

Goodman Mavumengwawa is our Safety Director and he constantly checks on the teams and advises the supervisors on safety methods. Our supervisors are monitored on a monthly basis and receive monthly incentives for adhering to the company code of conduct and following a safe work ethic.

We have formal weekly meetings with our management team and supervisory staff to ensure that the communication channels are kept open and to maintain constant interaction with our staff. This results in the smooth running of our company.

As 95% of our staff are from previously disadvantaged backgrounds we feel very strongly about social responsibility and decided in 2006 to support Fikelela as our main project. Fikelela has two centres, one in Khayelitsha and one in Ottery where they care for abandoned, abused and orphaned babies and children and nurse them back to health before being found foster homes.

We have recently attended the Interclean Convention in Amsterdam and are one of the first South African based companies to import the latest technology in window cleaning. The revolutionary water-fed pole system revolutionises the window cleaning industry.
